Spoiled Latina Day Houston
Celebrating 10 years as a blogger, Spoiled Latina held a women's event at The Space HTX in Houston, TX on Sunday July 15th. The city honored Spoiled Latina with her own day, Spoiled Latina Day on July 9th. Women from all over the nation came to enjoy a night out, empower one another, and even pamper themselves with mini manis and gifts from Tarte Cosmetics, Urban Decay, Macy's, and so much more.
A panel of fascinating women took the stage to speak of their journeys. Inspirational stories about these women's lives were told that ranged from fitness and motherhood, to building empires. Key note speaker Suzette Quintanilla, sister to the late tejano star Selena Quintanilla, humbly spoke about putting the pieces back together after the beloved singer passed away. There was laughter, tears, and smiles throughout the night, but what was felt the most was the inspiration that swarmed the crowd's hearts.
In honor of being spoiled for a day, AP artist Suly Florian enticed the room with a live painting of Spoiled Latina herself. When choosing a photo, the blogger chose one that carried joyful reminiscence of a moment in time where she felt immensely happy. Florian seeped into that energy translating the emotions into the painting.
SIX:02 Houston Galleria
Saturday, June 2nd, was an eventful evening full of art, music, food, shopping and Beyonce. Athletic meets runway was the tone for the evening at the ever fashionable athletic flagship store SIX:02 at the Houston Galleria.
Store manager Carlos Machuca, along with artist Suly Florian, decided to highlight and celebrate Houston native and music super star Beyonce, for SIX:02's anniversary celebration. As the store carries her popular women's athletic clothing line Ivy Park, it was a no brainer. "Beyonce embodies what girls aspire to be." states Florian "She was the chosen art."
A painting of Beyonce wearing an Ivy Park shirt, displayed inside the store, while Suly held a live performance of her painting Beyone's face on a window display for visitors and pedestrians to enjoy. The painting will be chosen and donated to a Houston based program designed to empower young women.
